Yesterday was my Birthday~
First we made sugar cookies, I found a recipe online and we cooked them in the skillet~
Forgot to take a picture, they we not real pretty, BUT they tasted like a sugar cookie!
Then I made another new recipe for flour tortillas, the third one and I think we liked these the best so far, maybe it was the "rolling" pin that I used, hey hot sauce bottles are good for that!!
The finished tortillas
Then the children left and planned a very nice Birthday dinner for me, they had a great time and everything was done up just right and the food tasted so yummy too! They made a Birthday Banner  and strung it across the table!

They made a strawberry cake!
And they even made candles out of Paper... they didn't want to stay lit, but the thought was there and they didn't quite have enough candles.... we didn't want to burn down the boat so I blew them out before they were all lite :O)
Was a very nice Birthday dinner, Georgette and the children had a good time fixing it just right, made me the queen of the night! Then we played some games~

A sailboat Thanksgiving dinner

This was the third Thanksgiving on our boat, seems like a lot, this year we went to our neighbor boat and had a very nice day! Georgette went all out and made lots of yummy dishes, since turkey was $60.00 for a bird we didn't do turkey , but Roger on the other boat baked two big chickens and brought them over and it was very yummy!!
I have been able to BAKE my breads and rolls on Bob and Georgette's boat so that has been a nice treat from the stove cooked boat bread we normally do. I made coconut rolls for thanksgiving dinner.
Megan helping Georgette make the dumplings.
We made coconut hard candy
And wrapped it, it didn't last long :O)

The children ready for Thanksgiving dinner, and being goofy
The boat was full!
Megans been sewing, she made Mia Angelina Ballerina
She made herself new pants, and thought sewing with a pattern was fun~

Sailboat eat on a budget

Hurricane Sandy
So I found a tortilla recipe online and we LOVE it! I make fryed tortilla wraps , you can put ANYTHING inside this dough. This time around I put cabbage salad that Megan made and a chunk of cheese.
Pull dough across and press edges with a fork
Fry in oil till golden brown! If you like cabbage you'll enjoy this!
The flour tortilla dough is really easy to make and delicious ~
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons oil
let sit 20 min.
flatten out and add whatever you have on hand, and fry!
we have put apples and cinnamon inside, I'm sure cream cheese and fruit pie filling  would be yummy too~

The day looks brighter today!

Yesterday when we were trying to fish on the dock our friends that we left Florida with came in! It was so good to see them! We left them back in Bimini and they are now here too! They are great people who enjoy the children too! Mia is very excited because both boats have their dogs that she missed seeing!

Hurricane Sandy Bahamas

Guess who had a baby?!!! Circles our dolphin friend had a baby and the papa was with them too the day we left to go to the hurricane hole! Dolphins always seem to be a good sign!!
So before the storm we had a water spout REAL close, I thought we were going to get hit by it, but it just hovered over for a long time, whew these can be scary~ We had one boat between us and it....

The children thought it was the neatest thing ever!
Then there was a nice rainbow
I didn't take to many pictures, I was afraid my camera may get wet....
The dinghy filled up with water right away, we thought maybe it was a good thing so the sailboat didn't swing as fast?...

Right before it got to bad, but was still whipping it up pretty good, right when Rob was getting ready to jump in to move some anchors, here comes our good neighbor swimming over to see if we needed anything?!! WHAT you say and yes I say he really did! No one was sure what way the wind was to blow, if it went around us one way you set the anchor off in a certain direction, if it blows the other way then you should have them set another way, well our anchors were set for it to blow in the wrong direction, so our good neighbor took a plastic jug and moved our anchors in the direction need for the blow~
 Thats our good neighbor

 Rob checking the anchors
The children put their goggles on so they could see out, the rain was like pins and needles hitting your skin~ AND eyes

re tying down the solar panel, can't lose that or we'd have no lights!
Pulling up a anchor
The barometer going back to it's normal self, the red mark was what it went to
On the other side of the island were our other boater friends, some lost anchors some dinghys, andsome drug a long ways away, but all were safe in the end!

 bailing the dinghy

So that was our first hurricane on the boat Hurricane Sandy~
